During her first Milan stop on the Eras Tour, Taylor Swift faced an unexpected interruption when she accidentally swallowed a bug while performing at San Siro Stadium on July 13. The incident occurred during the “secret songs” portion of the show, while she was singing a mashup of “I Almost Do” and “The Moment I Knew.” After coughing, Swift jokingly addressed the audience, saying, “I knew it would happen ’cause there’s so many bugs here tonight,” but reassured them it wasn’t a big deal, saying, “It’ll be fine, I just need to cough a little.” She quickly continued with the performance, just as she had done when swallowing bugs during earlier shows in London and Chicago.
Swift wowed fans with her Fearless era costume featuring striking black and gold patterns, prompting some to speculate that an announcement for Reputation (Taylor’s Version) might be coming soon. She also introduced a new turquoise blue ensemble during the 1989 segment, a color combination that was a first for the tour.
Another significant costume change occurred in her Tortured Poets Department set, where Swift donned a white dress with lyrics from “Who’s Afraid of Little Old Me?” written in cursive. This was a shift from her previous dress for this set, which featured lyrics from “Fortnight” that read, “I love you, it’s ruining my life.”
At one point in the show, the crowd began chanting “Sei Bellissima” (which means “you are very beautiful” in Italian), and the 14-time Grammy winner appeared visibly moved by the outpouring of love. Milan came after Swift performed two nights in Zurich on July 9 and 10, part of the three-and-a-half-hour Eras Tour.
Reflecting on her Zurich experience, Swift shared on Instagram that it was her first time in Switzerland, writing, “The Eras Tour has brought so many firsts with it… for example, I’d never been to Switzerland before. This place is stunningly beautiful, and I loved playing for those two wonderful crowds in Zurich.” She also noted that only seven cities remained on the European leg of her tour, adding her excitement about performing in Milan next.
On July 9, Swift marked her 113th Eras Tour show by performing several of her favorite songs, including “Right Where You Left Me” from Evermore, “All You Had to Do Was Stay” from 1989, and “Sad Beautiful Tragic” from Red. She also honored the date by playing Speak Now’s “Last Kiss,” which mentions July 9 in the lyrics.
Before her Switzerland shows, Swift performed three nights in Amsterdam. On July 6, she gave a special nod to Travis Kelce with a mashup of “Mary’s Song,” “So High School,” and “Everything Has Changed,” which reportedly left the NFL star emotional. After the show, Swift and Kelce were seen holding hands as they left the venue. In a TikTok video shared by a fan, Swift smiled and waved while Kelce hyped up the crowd by raising his arms.
