Earlier, on her GoFundMe page, Vitoria explained her goal of raising 40,000 pounds to attend university. She had been accepted to study Mathematics at the prestigious Warwick University, having achieved impressive academic results. However, she was unable to secure student loans due to her lack of housing and her family’s low income. Vitoria described the challenges she faced, including the loss of her father and leaving her mother behind in Portugal, noting that it was a necessary sacrifice in pursuit of better educational opportunities. Her story underscored her dream of not only improving her own life but also inspiring others facing similar struggles to achieve their goals, regardless of obstacles such as gender inequality, rаcism, immigration, and financial barriers.
