NBA legend Michael Jordan and his wife Yvette Prieto are still basking in the Italian heat.
This summer, the 60-year-old has been spending time with his family in Europe. On Tuesday, he was seen enjoying a cigar on a boat near the island of Capri.
Prieto, 44, and Jordan usually maintain a low profile, but this week they were spotted on the island of Sicily with their twin girls.
Three years after the two first met in a Miami nightclub in 2008, Jordan asked the model, who was born in Cuba, to marry him. Following their 2013 marriage, they welcomed their nine-year-old kids a year later.
This week, the couple was spotted spending some alone time together while lounging in the sun on a boat.
Their most recent journey coincides with the statement made by NBA player Scottie Pippen’s ex-wife Larsa claiming she was “embarrassed” and “traumatized” by Jordan’s declaration that he disapproves of her dating his son Marcus.
Jordan and Pippen, who wed Larsa in 1997 and 2021, have been at odds for some time.
Since it started in September of last year, Larsa and Marcus’s courtship has been a continual source of controversy.
When asked last week, while he was leaving a restaurant in Paris, if he supported the relationship, Jordan laughed and replied, “No!”
Larsa responded to Jordan’s comment in a recent podcast episode of Separation Anxiety, hosted by Marcus and Larsa.
Larsa expressed astonishment that Marcus found humor in the circumstance, saying she “didn’t think it was funny.”
Marcus clarified, saying, ‘My entire family is competitive. The Jordans, you know, talking is kind of in our DNA. And it energizes us. It inspires us.
He thought, “Like, he’s playing,” as soon as he heard what Jordan had said about Larsa. He’s laughing and joking around. He’s only being playful, you know.
Marcus waggishly continued, suggesting that the evening of his father’s widely shared jab at Larsa, he may have been “a little lit” off tequila at the Matignon restaurant in Paris.
When Larsa declared her and Marcus’s families were “fine” with their romance, she said it “traumatized” her that people would think she was “lying.”
She admitted, “But I do realize that since it’s just the two of us, it’s not awkward for us to be together, but it probably is awkward for my ex and your dad.”
She maintained that neither she nor Marcus had anything to do with Jordan and Pippen’s animosity, but she conceded that “for them it probably is weird” and that she “can’t be mаd” at Jordan for his sentimental attachments to Pippen.
