Jason Statham is grateful for his stuntmen’: They are ‘unsung heroes’

Jason Statham is appreciative of the “unsung heroes” in the action movie industry.

The 51-yeаr-оld Hоbbs &аmp; Shаw stаr discussed stuntmаn Jоe Wаtts’ heаd injuries оn the set оf the upcоming Fаst &аmp; Furiоus 9 with Extrа. Severаl оutlets indicаte thаt Wаtts is currently in а “induced cоmа” fоllоwing her repоrted injury оn Mоndаy, when she fell аrоund thirty feet while wоrking оn а set in Englаnd.

The incident, according to Statham, who has experience with stunts from films like The Transporter and most recently the Fast & Furious spinoff Hobbs & Shaw, is “awful.”

Regarding pulling off stunts for movies, he told Extra, “It’s an unpredictable science.” “You take all the necessary steps to ensure that these things don’t occur. It is truly unfortunate that mishaps occur. Families suffer greatly when someone is seriously injured.

“The best relationships I have and the most fun I have ever had on a set are with the stunt people,” Statham went on, “and have been for my whole career.”

“In some ways, I think they are the unsung heroes,” he continued. “They put themselves out there with no reciprocation to make other people look good.”

Solo: A Star Wars Story, Ready Player One, and Mission: Impossible – Fallout are just a few of the movies on which Watts has contributed. In two episodes of the most recent season of Game of Thrones, he also performed stunts.

Dom Toretto and Letty Ortiz, played by Diesel and Michelle Rodriguez, respectively, will be back in the newest entry in the franchise.

Tyrese Gibson will play Roman Pearce, and Jordana Brewster will reprise her role as Dom’s sister Mia Toretto. Although details about his part in the movie are still being withheld, John Cena will also be joining the franchise.

The release date of Fast & Furious 9 is set for May 2020. Hobbs & Shaw, presented by Fast & Furious, debuts on August 2.
