Jason Statham worked as a model for major fashion catwalks before moving into acting

His diving career served as a launching pad (pun intended) for his subsequent profession as a male model. Sports Promotions, a company that specializes in sports models, noticed Statham in training. Before turning to acting, he enjoyed a somewhat successful modeling career in the 1990s, receiving praise for having a style that defied the stereotype of the “male model.”

Statham’s portfolio included catalog modeling for high-end retailers like French Connection, international labels like Tommy Hilfiger and Levis, and sports brands like Adidas, Timberland, and Lacoste. In addition to his modeling career, he starred in music videos for three songs: “Dream A Little Dream of Me” by The Beautiful South, “Comin’ On Strong” by The Shamen, and “Run To The Sun” by Erasure. We’re sure he could have made it big in modeling with his striking good looks and bad boy charm, but we’re pleased that he decided to pursue his passion for acting on the big screen.
