NBA player Victor Wembanyama, 20, was selected by Louis Vuitton to serve as its newest house ambassador

French basketball star Victor Wembanyama is Louis Vuitton’s newest client.

The power forward “Wemby” has been designated as the official representative of the French house. He becomes the latest in a long line of famous athletes that already includes tennis players Naomi Osaka and Carlos Alcaraz, fencer Enzo Lefort, swimmer Leon Marchand, and skier Enzo Lefort. In his new role, Wembanyama will represent the company at significant occasions and appear in the label’s advertising materials.

“With a steadfast dedication to excellence and a never-ending quest for perfection, Victor joins Louis Vuitton, setting off on a journey marked by shared values and aligned goals.” The French luxury brand released a statement saying, “The young athlete, much like Louis Vuitton, has established a precedent by excelling in a nascent career.”

The San Antonio Spurs selected Wembanyama with the first overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft.

His debut at the draft wearing a dark green Louis Vuitton suit marked the beginning of his relationship with the prestigious brand.

After making his Spurs debut, Wembanyama has broken numerous records. In the first half of the year, his jersey was the fourth most popular NBA product, behind only LeBron James, Jayson Tatum, and Stephen Curry’s. This information comes from WWD.
