The new song “Holy” by Justin Bieber and Chance the Rapper quickly raced to the top of the iTunes list thanks to the support of their fans, and now they’re giving back.
The 26-year-old singer and 27-year-old rapper posted the same message on their social media pages on Thursday, starting with the words, “Thanks for the love on Holy.”
“[We’re] partnering with Cash App to give away a total of $250k today to those affected by these hard times,” they said. Please share your tale with us if you would like. Use #JBChanceHoly and drop your $cashtag to enter.”
In response to Bieber’s tweet, a fan called Katy tweeted, “anything is greatly appreciated.” She said, “my house, my mothers house, and my boyfriends house all suffered so many damages indoor and outdoor from #HurricaneLaura on August 27.” She tweeted a screenshot of the $500 the pop artist sent her via Cash App shortly after that.
She added next to the screenshot, “JUSTIN, I AM SOBBING AND SHAKING AT WORK YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW MUCH THIS WILL HELP US!” “You have my sincerest gratitude! I will always be grateful to you! I adore you so much! #JBCHANCEHOLY.
Before “Holy” was officially released on September 18, Bieber hinted on Instagram that it would mark the beginning of a “new era” for him. However, he did not clarify if a new album is being recorded.
After the success of his last studio album, Changes, which debuted at the top of the US charts in February, Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande worked together on the song “Stuck with U,” which was published in May and has a quarantine theme.
This month, Bieber and his 23-year-old wife Hailey Baldwin celebrated their second wedding anniversary. The period of seclusion during the coronavirus outbreak has provided them with a much-needed chance to concentrate on one another and their love,
“They are, of course, aware that it’s a very rough year for many people,” said a source. However, the shutdown has been somewhat advantageous for them. They have had some really good time together for months. Before COVID struck, they were both extremely busy at work. They had to prioritize their marriage because of the lockdown.”
The source went on, “They feel really fortunate to spend this much time together.”
