‘Please pray for me’: Justin Bieber claims he suffers facial paralysis from a rare illness and fears eating poorly after canceling concert dates

Justin Bieber has begged fans to pray for him after experiencing temporary facial paralysis from Ramsay Hunt syndrome days after canceling his Justice World Tour.


On Friday, the 28-year-old pop diva posted a three-minute video on Instagram detailing the diagnosis, which can include facial paralysis. 

Ramsay Hunt syndrome causes temporary hearing loss and facial paralysis, which can become permanent, according to the Mayo Clinic.  

‘Hey everyone Justin here, I wanted to update you guys on what’s been going on,’ he said with his right eye frozen and right side of his face still.

You can tell by my face. My face is paralyzed by Ramsay Hunt syndrome, a virus that targets my ear and facial nerves.

The singer postponed the ‘next few gigs’ of his seven-leg, 130-date Justice World Tour on Tuesday due to ‘non-Covid related illness.’

Can’t believe I stated this. “I’ve done everything to get better, but my sickness is getting worse,” tweeted the 28-year-old pop sensation with 539.2M social media followers.

My heart breaks knowing I must postpone these next several shows (doctors orders). I love you all and will rest and get healthy. 

Justin released a video on Friday showing how his diagnosis has left him unable to blink, smile, or move his right nostril.

I’m paralyzed on this side of my face. For people annoyed by my forthcoming concert cancellations, I’m physically unable to do them. Clearly, this is a major matter.I wish this wasn’t true, but my body is urging me to slow down. I hope you understand. I’ll rest and relax to get back to 100% so I can accomplish what I was born to do.

FacialPalsy.org.uk reports that 70% of patients will recover fully if antiviral treatment is administered within 72 hours of symptoms and within a few weeks if nerve damage is minor.

Justin said he’s resting and doing everything he can to fix the problem, but he doesn’t know how long it will take.

He said: “I love you guys.” Thanks for your patience; I’ll get better. My face will return to normal after all these facial exercises.

Justin’s wife Hailey was hospitalized in March for a minor brain blood clot that caused stroke-like symptoms. 

Justin reportedly stayed with his 25-year-old wife during her harrowing ordeal.

Speaking to People in March, sources stated that Justin may be more traumatized than his partner. Justin cried because you don’t expect a young wife to experience stroke-like symptoms. According to the insider, Justin texted everyone he knew to pray for her and never left her side.

Justin had recovered from COVID-19 weeks earlier and had to cancel some dates of his tour, his first major outing since ending the Purpose world tour in 2017.

Hailey posted on Instagram that she was hospitalized in Palm Springs in March for’stroke-like’ symptoms and a’small blood clot.’

Even though his wife asked him to keep calm while she recovered, sources tell PEOPLE magazine that Justin has been worried sick about her.

The insider claimed, ‘Hailey doesn’t want everyone to worry about her, but it was a scary scenario for both of them. Justin is still anxious. He sleeps poorly. He watches as she naps.

He would’ve done anything to help her, said the insider. The moment reminded them of mortality and the need of prioritizing what matters.He acknowledges Hailey as his rock, stating that she saved him from a difficult time and should be appreciated daily. He’ll monitor and assist her. Everyone around him prays for her wellbeing. It shook him.

Hailey wrote on Instagram: ‘On Thursday morning, I was seated at breakfast with my husband when I started having stroke-like symptoms and was transported to the hospital.’

They found a very small blood clot to my brain, which caused a small oxygen shortage, but my body passed it on its own and I recovered within a few hours.

She said, ‘Although this was probably one of the worst situations I’ve ever been through, I’m home now and doing great, and I’m so glad and appreciative to so many amazing doctors and nurses!’

“Thank you to everyone who has sent well wishes, concern, support, and love.”

According to individuals close to Hailey, her physical problem was affecting her movement and she had tests to determine the cause.

Since Justin had been diagnosed with COVID-19 in March, doctors suspected her symptoms were related, but they couldn’t prove it.
